You don’t need to get a phone. You need a phone that gets you.

HTC Corporation, a global smartphone designer, has unveiled on Thursday a global advertising campaign that is based on HTC’s new Quietly Brilliant brand positioning at Butter Factory @ One Fullerton. As HTC’s first global advertising campaign, the YOU campaign is being rolled out across 20 countries in the coming weeks and features the tagline, ‘You don’t need to get a phone. You need a phone that gets you.’  This represents HTC’s commitment to focus on people, their needs and how they work and live to ensure that HTC devices suit them.

On the same day, HTC also announced the launch of HTC Tattoo, an Android-based phone that brings broad personalisation to the masses in Singapore.  With its distinct design and ability to personalise all aspects of the phone, from its hardware to its applications and content, people are able to express themselves and create their own individual mobile experience.

IMG_8564HTC Tattoo is the second phone to embody HTC Sense, a mobile experience focused on putting people at the centre by making your phone work in a more simple and natural way. Designed by listening and observing how people live  and communicate. Inline with their YOU campaign, HTC Sense revolves around three fundamental principles – Make it Mine, Stay Close and Discover the Unexpected.

With HTC Tattoo, you stay close to the important people in your life by integrating your communications and applications including voice calls, emails, texts, photos and status updates into one consolidated view, providing innovative and fun phone experiences.

HTC Tattoo integrates Google’s innovative mobile services including: Google Maps, search, Google Mail, and Android Market where users can download thousands of popular applications and games. It also comes complete with a broad variety of hardware features including a 3.2 mega pixel camera, 3.5mm stereo headset jack and expandable microSD memory.

The new HTC Tattoo will be available this weekend in Thoughtful Silver at all authorised resellers and exclusively in Sophisticated Black at M1 retail outlets at a suggested retail price of S$598*. Standard retail HTC Tattoo package will come with a 2GB microSD™ card.

Hi Guys! If you have followed my blog recently, you would have known that I have won myself a Creative Earphones during a Twitter Contest. See my older post here

Twitter is really amazing and more and more organizations have started to leverage on its platform to reach out to the public. The latest player who jumps into this bandwagon is the Science Centre.

As part of their science.09 event, they are giving away an iPod Touch by asking Science questions!

If you want to win the Twitter Contest like I did, simply submit questions and qualify for the contest via Twitter:

  1. Follow @ProfWhy (www.twitter.com/profwhy), the science.09’s mascot Professor Why
  2. Tweet your questions to @ProfWhy

Alternatively, you can submit your questions along with your full name and email on the science.09 website (www.sciencemonth.org.sg)

Every Monday, Professor Why will also respond to a selection of the previous week’s questions. Check the science.09 website for answers!

The contest began on Tuesday, 11 August 2009 and will end at midnight (Singapore time) on Friday, 4 September 2009.

Obama Can Use BlackBerry in White House

President Obama will soon get his souped-up, high-security BlackBerry for use in and around the White House and during presidential travel, according to Obama administration officials.

So will Obama ditch Sectera Edge for BlackBerry? Obama has been carrying two smartphones: a BlackBerry 8830 that he uses for personal calls, and a General Dynamics Sectera Edge that he uses for secret government business. These 2 devices will soon be integrated into 1. The SecurVoice software package that allows users access to data up to the Top-Secret classification level was developed by Genesis Key with the help of engineers from the Toronto-based Research In Motion, which makes BlackBerry.

Video: SMRt Bus on fire at jalan eunos

While I was driving along Jalan Eunos, Singapore on 12 Apr 2009, 1320H, we spotted a bus on fire! Fire started at the back. Probably the engine overheated!

There were construction workers trying to fight the fire but it was very dangerous! Furthermore, the place should be cordoned off if it was the engine on fire. The bus might explode anything.

If this fire was caused by overheated engine, shouldn’t it a stringent check on the bus before it is operational?

how 3r is practised in prison?

I was travelling on SBS Bus no. 5 to my dad’s factory and I saw rows of door hangers near the ceiling of the bus. The one that captured my attention is the job advertisement by Singapore Prison Service.

The other side of the door hanger shows a picture illustrating visual perception. This picture can be interpreted as “outside the cell” and “inside the cell”.

It is an interesting campaign and probably, they are expecting many applicants to join Singapore Prison Service.
