Casio Releases Distinguished Metal Twisted G-SHOCK MTG-G1000D Series for the Discerning Globetrotter

Latest addition to G-SHOCK’s sophisticated MT-G line comes armed with Casio’s revolutionary GPS Hybrid Wave Ceptor and Dual Coil Motor for precise timekeeping worldwide

110515_0415_CasioReleas1.jpgSingapore, November 2015: Casio Singapore has announced the arrival of the G-SHOCK MTGG1000D, the latest addition to its premium line-up of Metal Twisted G-SHOCK timepieces, which has been enhanced to suit today’s savvy jetsetter. It guarantees superb timekeeping as it is armed with Casio’s revolutionary GPS Wave Ceptor Technology and a Dual Coil Motor to quickly adjust and display accurate time, no matter where in the world.

The MTG-G1000D is the final piece to be added to Casio’s Global Time Sync collection, alongside selected G-SHOCK, EDIFICE and OCEANUS models featuring Casio’s pioneering and world’s first GPS Wave Ceptor Technology which utilises radio wave time-calibration and Global Positioning System (GPS) signals for instant and accurate timekeeping even across changing time zones.

Dual Coil Motor110515_0415_CasioReleas2.jpg

When adjusting to different time zones, a Dual Coil Motor powers the inset dial’s watch hands at the six o’clock position to swiftly rotate both clockwise or counter-clockwise to almost instantly reflect the accurate time when the world time function is activated. Using the Dual Coil Motor, wearers can also instantly switch between world and home time displays on the main and inset dials, making the MTGG1000D especially suitable for frequent travellers.

Advanced Core Guard Structure and Polished Finishing

Within the robust 198g stainless steel frame is Casio’s new and improved Core Guard Structure that boosts the watch’s shock-resistance using a newly developed spring-like fine resin. Wearers need not worry about hard knocks or impact even while on the go as the resin acts as a cushion to protect the module and watch face.

The MTG-G1000D is also fortified with Casio’s proprietary Triple G Resist – designed to withstand shocks from drops, gravitational forces and vibration – for unparalleled toughness and durability. Encased in stainless steel, it is a sophisticated fusion of strength and beauty complete with stunning Sallaz-polished finishing and sapphire crystal on the watch face.

Pricing and Availability

In 2013, Casio premiered the MT-G Metal Twisted G-SHOCK in Singapore, a collection designed for active and discerning gentlemen who enjoy the prestige of a luxury accessory but also seek outstanding performance and absolute toughness promised by a G-SHOCK. It is engineered and carefully crafted in Japan with the finest materials and opulent styling to deliver a luxurious timepiece while staying true to the durability of an original G-SHOCK.

The MTG-G1000D comes in two colour variations, stainless steel with either Blue (MTG-G1000D1A2) or Black (MTG-G1000D-1A) coded City Code Rings. Both models retail at a Suggested Retail Price of SGD$1,799.00 in limited quantities from 3 November 2015 onwards, at all G-Factory stores as well as Cortina Chinatown Point outlet.

ASUS Launches #ZenWatch 2 at Zensation 2015 in Singapore

Singapore (29 October, 2015) — ASUS today unveiled a range of new Zen-inspired products at the Zensation 2015 press event, designed to bring harmony and simplicity to people’s personal and professional lives. At the Zensation press event, it showcased the five elements wood, metal, fire and water, which are inspired by the power and beauty of nature, displaying different products that show the combination of diverse natural elements to produce balanced creations which provide incredible experiences for all.

The Zensation press event today also unveiled the latest ASUS ZenWatch 2, announcing ASUS’ first entry into the wearables market in Singapore. The ZenWatch 2 is a stylish and personalised wearable device powered by Android Wear, crafted with attention to detail using high-quality materials, plus it features customisable watch faces as well as interchangeable straps to fit any mood.

ASUS ZenWatch 2

The ZenWatch 2 is ASUS’ latest entry in the Zen-inspired line of wearables. The elegantly designed ZenWatch 2 uses a stainless-steel casing and features a hand-polished finishing. To top off its timeless look, the digital crown is designed to look like its traditional dress watch counterpart.

The ZenWatch 2 is designed to be a truly personal device that wearers can customise even further to express their unique sense of style. Available in two sizes, Sparrow, the larger 1.63-inch gunmetal housing and navy blue leather strap, and Wren, the 1.43-inch silver housing and khaki leather strap
designed to fit perfectly on the slimmer wrists. With more than 50 instantly-changeable watch faces, and the new FaceDesigner smartphone app that allows wearers create watch faces with customised style and functionality, plus a variety of interchangeable straps to change straps to their personal preference.

Fine Watch Craftsmanship

The ASUS ZenWatch 2 features a durable stainless-steel case available in two sizes that cater to both female and male users. A metal crown button adorns the case, similar to traditional watch styling and providing a quick way to access apps and turn the screen on or off. The watch crystal is designed with a gentle curve for an elegant look and improved usability by providing a smooth surface for easy and responsive swiping gestures. It is made from tough Corning® Gorilla® Glass 3 for protection against scratches and damage.

Highly Personal and Customisable

The ZenWatch 2 is available with a wide range of straps in a variety of materials and colours for further personalisation. A tough yet supple rubber strap is available which makes it the perfect choice for athletes, users with active lifestyles, or those who prefer a more casual look. In addition, a soft, premium leather strap is available, providing an elegant look that fits any user scenario.

Complementing its physical design, the ZenWatch 2 comes with over 50 instantly-changeable, professionally-designed software watch faces. The wide variety of available designs allows wearers to customise their watch to fit any style, activity, or mood, such as a traditional watch face for work or a night out, a sports watch face for exercise, or a more casual design for leisure time. With the new FaceDesigner smartphone app, wearers can even create their own watch faces with the look and functionality they desire for a truly personal and unique ZenWatch 2 experience.

Smart Assistant App

Powered by the latest version of Android Wear, the ZenWatch 2 is a smart assistant for Android and iOS smartphones providing wearers with a convenient, at-a-glance view of incoming calls, messages, notifications, and other important information without having to remove their phone from their pocket or bag. The ZenWatch 2 comes with a wide-range of software features, including ASUS ZenUI apps, Business Helper, FoneHelper, Remote Camera, and ZenWatch Message.

The ZenWatch 2 seamlessly integrates with the ZenUI on the ASUS smartphones, allowing wearers enjoy wearable-optimised ZenUI apps, such as What’s Next and Do It Later. What’s Next keeps wearers informed of important information as they need to know it, such as details of their next upcoming appointment or the weather at their next destination. The Do It Later feature allows wearers defer events such as incoming phone calls and messages by automatically adding them to a list of reminders, so they can stay focused on their current task.

ZenWatch 2 introduces Business Helper, a suite of features to assist wearers with common businessrelated tasks, such as checking their agendas, managing email, and viewing their call logs. In addition to the Business Helper, the ZenWatch 2 comes with an improved version of FoneHelper, a collection of features including Quick Settings, Cover to Mute, Unlock My Phone, and Forgot Phone Warning that are designed to provide a more convenient and enjoyable smartphone experience.

The Remote Camera function provide wearers with the ability to display their smartphone’s camera viewfinder on their ZenWatch 2. This frees them to take photos from creative angles where the viewfinder would be difficult to see, such as when holding their phone overhead at a concert or other crowded event. Remote Camera is also useful for group photos, letting the photographer compose the photo, release the shutter, and check the final result while being included in the shot. The Remote Camera function offers faster performance, greater range, the ability to switch between the phone’s front and rear cameras, plus zoom capability.

The ZenWatch Message is a fun new watch-to-watch communication app that allows wearers to exchange short messages, emojis, and drawings with other ZenWatch 2 wearers right from their wrists. In addition to software improvements, the ZenWatch 2 comes with an enhanced battery that provides up to two days of use on a single charge. An all-new magnetic charger effortlessly attaches to the ZenWatch 2 and it takes just 36 minutes to charge the ZenWatch
2 from zero to 50% capacity.

Advanced Wellness Manager

Comfortable to wear all day and built with sophisticated sensors, the ZenWatch 2 works together with the completely redesigned Wellness smartphone app to provide a comprehensive solution for managing fitness. The ZenWatch 2 is a full-featured activity tracker with a built-in pedometer that provides industry leading step-counting accuracy to give wearers a clear and precise picture of their activity level. Its IP67 water-resistant case is impervious to sweat, so wearers can use the ZenWatch 2 to track even their most vigorous workouts.

A new workout coaching feature tracks a variety of activity types including walking, running, push-ups, and sit-ups, letting wearers set goals for each workout. The ZenWatch 2 monitors the workout, provides feedback along the way, and notifies wearers with a congratulatory notification when they meet their goal. Furthermore, it helps wearers stay active throughout the day by providing reminders to get up and move at regular intervals.

With the Wellness smartphone app, wearers can open the Wellness app on their smartphone to see all of their activity information organised in one convenient location. It displays daily and weekly activity summaries, presented as attractive, easy-to-understand timelines and charts to help wearers track their progress and stay motivated to achieve personal fitness goals.

The ZenWatch 2 will retail at SGD $229 and will be available from 14th November 2015 onwards.

Sony Launched Hi-Res Compact Audio System – CAS-1

CAS-1

(SINGAPORE, 27 October 2015) – Sony introduces the CAS-1, a compact audio system that aims to deliver the ultimate sound quality. It features dual-amplifiers that are tailored towards the distinct amplification requirements of speakers and headphones, thus providing the ideal sound performance regardless of output system. Advanced connectivity features allow you to stream high quality audio from your own device via Bluetooth® and NFC™ wirelessly, as well as via USB.

Designed for performance

The design for CAS-1 is inherited from Sony’s line of high-end ES series, and is focused on creating an ideal acoustic field on your desktop. The system is made up of three components – a main unit and two separate speakers to enhance sound. Delivering your music collection in beyond CD quality, the system supports Hi-Res Audio in both DSD and PCM formats, including FLAC, WAV or AIFF files of up to 24bit/192kHz quality. The unique Sony DSEE HX™ technology is used to upscale compressed audio files, such as MP3, to near Hi-Res Audio quality, thus bringing back a rich and full-bodied sound.

The CAS-1 features two independent dedicated amplifiers, each of which is tailored towards the specific requirements of speakers or headphones. The integration of Sony’s S-Master HX™ Hi-Res     Audio amplifier for the speakers further enhances music by reducing distortion and noise. Pulse Height volume will not sacrifice any data to control volume resulting in a crystal clear, crisp sound at any volume level. The headphone amplifier which is featured in other award-winning Hi-Res Audio models, including Sony’s high performance DAC from PHA-2 contributes to realize hi-res audio quality with headphones. These components allow the CAS-1 to produce a balanced, powerful and precise sound.

Tailor your sound experience

Enjoy your music the way you want to with the choice of audio output. You will be amazed if you choose to enjoy your favourite tunes with the two supplied speakers. Featuring a Hi-Res Audio compatible 14mm soft dome tweeter as well as a highly-rigid 62mm woofer that is supported by a bass reflex port, each speaker beautifully recreates a wide range of frequencies while suppressing noise and distortion – even when listening at close range. The brass spikes and speaker bases included allow you to add final touches to your ideal near-field Hi-Res Audio listening adventure. The model was also designed to allow the highest quality of listening experience with headphones.

Connection options are aplenty. Wirelessly connect your smartphone via Sony’s SongPal™ app to the CAS-1 and stream your music with detail and clarity using LDAC™, which is supported by Bluetooth®. Two USB (USB-A and USB-B) ports are also available for playback of Hi-Res Audio formats.

SINGAPORE, OCTOBER 21, 2015 –
TAG Heuer is building Singapore’s first ever floating tennis platform ahead of the WTA Finals in Singapore. Stretching out 35 by 17 metres across the water at Clifford Pier, and weighing up to 10 cars, the floating court will be unveiled on October 22 in what is promised to be an evening of sporting glamour and a key event on the fringe of the tournament.

The floating court will take 10 days to build and install, and will be the stage for an exhibition game between two tennis icons who have played the sport at the highest levels – five-time world number one and TAG Heuer ambassador Maria Sharapova, and former tennis player Michael Chang. Guests and the public can get up close to the action from the deck at Clifford Pier, while all along the bay, the floating court will offer a visual spectacle.

Hailed by tennis legend John McEnroe as “one of the greatest competitors our sport has ever seen,” Sharapova, who is currently in second place on the WTA leaderboard coming into the Finals, will be looking to bounce back from a forearm injury to register her first win in Singapore. She will arrive at the floating court in style, on a boat.

Chang, who is now coach to top Japanese player Kei Nishikori, still holds the record for being the youngest Grand Slam winner when he won the French Open in 1989 at the age of 17. He will take on Sharapova in a friendly mixed-doubles game. They will be paired with 19-year-old Angeline Devi Devanthiran and 17-year-old Shaheed Alam who both represented Singapore for the first time at the 28th SEA Games in June. There will also be a Charity Rally where TAG Heuer will donate $100 per rally in the longest rally played.

In addition, the event will see eight-year-old Joshua Wong’s wish come true. The young tennis fan suffers from non-Hodgkin lymphoma and TAG Heuer has partnered Make-A-Wish Foundation to realise Joshua’s wish to meet a real-life sports star. He will present the TAG Heuer limited edition SG50 Aquaracer to Sharapova on court in the presence of hundreds of guests.

The party will continue indoors with press conferences with Sharapova and Chang, as well as a TAG Heuer showcase, live music and other activities.

HP is attempting to make a smartwatch again. The last one made in 1977

HP is launching their own smart watch. In my opinion, this attempt comes in timely. All thanks to Pebble for creating this market.

HP partners Gilt in the making of this watch. Michael Bastian is responsible for designing this time piece which works with both iOS and Android.

There is no details on the spec at the moment. However, we can have a glimpse on how it is going to look like.

However do you know that the first smartwatch made by HP goes all the way back in 1977? What’s most shocking is that you can buy it at USD 14K on ebay. (See here)
