Also, it works with popular music services including Napster, Pandora and Rhapsody.

HTC Corporation, a global smartphone designer, has unveiled on Thursday a global advertising campaign that is based on HTC’s new Quietly Brilliant brand positioning at Butter Factory @ One Fullerton. As HTC’s first global advertising campaign, the YOU campaign is being rolled out across 20 countries in the coming weeks and features the tagline, ‘You don’t need to get a phone. On the same day, HTC also announced the launch of HTC Tattoo, an Android-based phone that brings broad personalisation to the masses in Singapore.  With its distinct design and ability to personalise all aspects of the phone, from its hardware to its applications and content, people are able to express themselves and create their own individual mobile experience.

World’s First 3.5G Touch Watch Phone Now Available in Singapore

Singapore, 30 October 2009 – LG Electronics (LG), a global leader and technology innovator in mobile communications, today announced that the world’s first Touch Watch Phone (Model: LG-GD910), is now available in Singapore.

With just 800 units allocated for the Singapore market, these sought-after communication timepieces will be sold by the three telco operators in Singapore—SingTel, M1 and StarHub—in one of their exclusively selected retail outlets, namely: SingTel at ION Orchard, M1 at Paragon, and StarHub at Plaza Singapura. LG’s GD910 Touch Watch Phone, with a recommended retail price of S$1,688 (without contract), makes its mark in history as the first ever 3.5G phone in the form factor of a watch to be publicly available outside of a spy movie.

Cost-Saving Printer

For small business owners, listen up! Brother has recently launched a new series of compact colour printers and Multi-functions Centre that promise to deliver cost-saving and high-speed printing. Price starts as low as $498/-

By utilising a newly improved LED printing technology, Brother is able to offer high speed printing at 16 pages per minute (ppm) and rich colour print quality at up to 2,400 x 600 dpi resolution, without increasing the cost of ownership. This will certainly meet the printing needs of both Small Offices Home Offices (SOHOs) and Small and Medium sized Businesses (SMBs)

Additionally, the MFCs offer print, fax, copy and scan functions in one machine with the unique scan to FTP and network features to reduce the amount of paper filing and easier document management for today’s offices. Alternatively, users can also scan to and even print directly from USB flash memory drive.

I do not have the chance to test up the printing quality but I guess this is pretty secondary.  For small business owners, what matters most is to achieve cost saving and decent print quality. The Toner Save Mode enables draft quality printouts that consumes less toner, while a separate toner and drum technology lets users maximise toner and drum usage so less is spent on replacing drums and reducing wastage.

VIDEO: TECH 65 Unboxed My INQ Mini 3G

Follow-up from my yesterday blog post: Singapore is the first to have social networking mobile phone in Asia, I have let Tech65 to do the unboxing of INQ Mini 3G (as they are more professional than me in doing unboxing).

Watch the video below.

As you can see it from the video, the device is pretty small and it fits nicely with your hand. It weighs 90g which is pretty light for a device that connects you to the internet whenever you go.

Battery life has been pretty good. I have been facebooking with the device since early in the morning and the battery is still at the healthy level when I am back home at night. I foresee that it can last me for the entire day tomorrow.

Although it is not laggy when you switched across different application, it does take a while to refresh the facebook contents probably it is due to the slower GPRS/HSDPA network.

The uploading of photo over the internet is fast. Although the 2.0 megapixel fixed focus camera produces a lower-than-market standard picture quality, I can upload a pic to facebook account in about 5 seconds. I can share a decent photo in a shortest period of time.

Critique: We still don’t know the price of this phone in Singapore yet but based on the estimation of £59.99, I will say it is a good substitute against smart phones in the market. Given its portability, it delivers good user experience for mobile phone users to engage in social network (in the mobile way).

Singapore Telecommunications Limited (SingTel) and INQ Mobile today announced that SingTel mobile customers will soon become the first in Asia and among the first in the world to get their hands on the ultimate 3G social mobile phone, the new INQ Mini 3G.

I am very fortunate enough to be one of the first few Singaporean to witness the first 3G social networking mobile phone in the world. Thanks to Ivy (Singtel) for inviting me to the Blogger Launch @Supper Club, Odeon Tower.

The launch has given a very good demonstration on what you, as a user, can do with the INQ Mini 3G. The INQ Mini 3G is the first social mobile phone to be fully integrated with Facebook, offering ‘always on’, one-click access to this popular social networking application, as well as Twitter. It also merges contacts on the mobile phone and Facebook to create the world’s first ‘live’ address book. Customers will see the caller’s latest Facebook profile picture with every incoming call. Another impressive feature is that the main Inbox will contain separate folders for Facebook messages, pokes and requests, as well as emails and SMS, all on the same page.

Users can multitask easily with the user-friendly INQ Mini 3G to access popular social networking services such as Twitter, email and instant messenger using its Switcher feature. They can view updates 24/7 with the ‘always on’ feature by simply logging in just once to these applications and staying connected even when the phone is powered off.
