SINGAPORE, 27 November 2015 – Christmas Wonderland @ Gardens by the Bay, Singapore’s largest yuletide fair, held its official opening this evening. Guest-of-Honour Mr S Iswaran, Minister for Trade and Industry (Industry), lit up the Spalliera – the tallest light sculpture at 20 metres high – and kick started the festivities including a special “Blizzard Time” treat for the guests.

Jointly organised by Blue Sky Events and Gardens by the Bay, Christmas Wonderland returns to Singapore for its second year with expanded fair grounds – nearly doubled in size at 35,000 square metres – a wider variety of engaging activities for everyone, as well as cool options to celebrate Christmas in the tropics. The fair welcomes local and international visitors from today till 3 January 2016.

Visitors can embark on an experiential journey through four main areas – the resplendent display 56 Luminarie light sculptures from Italy which begin at the Golden Garden and extend throughout the festival site; the European-style Festive Market and Spiegeltent offering an array of exquisite festive food and gift options at the Supertree Grove; The Fairground filled with traditional carnival games and rides near The Meadow; and the brand new Christmas Toyland floral display in the Flower Dome.

Kids will delight in special “Blizzard Time”and “Fun With Bubbles” sessions, as well as the new Ice Palace which hosts a Snow Playground and an Ice Skating Rink.
Visitors can also look forward to regular choral sessions at the stunning Cassa Armonica, theatrical performances and parades.
