‘Made To Wear’ Recycle Fashion Contest jointly organized by the Woodlands Grassroots Organisations and National Environmental Agency, held in conjunction with the launch of Clean and Green Singapore 2010.
Clean & Green Singapore aims to inspire Singaporeans to care for and protect our living environment by adopting an environmentally-friendly lifestyle. Organised by National Environment Agency (NEA), the annual event aims to promote pro-environment concern and activism amongst the community.
The “Made To Wear” Recycle Fashion Contest held on 8 November 2009 at Republic Polytechnic. Students are encouraged to stretch their creative flair further and design complete fashion pieces, footwear and accessories (suitable for regular wear after contest) all made of recycled materials. Brother International Singapore has loaned 6 sewing machines for the competition. Participating teams are invited to bring their own materials for the competition.
The contest is open to all secondary and tertiary schools within the North West District. Participating schools are required to form a team comprising two to five members.
