DBS Announces Partnership with Google’s Android Pay

After Apple Pay & Samsung Pay, DBS is entering partnership with Google to bring Android Pay to DBS card users in Singapore.

Anthony Seow, Head of Cards and Unsecured Loans, Consumer Banking Group, DBS Bank, “DBS/POSB is pleased to be partnering Google to bring Android Pay, which provides a fast and secure way to make purchases with Android devices, to our customers. Being the largest cards issuer in Singapore with close to five million credit and debit cards in circulation, we aim to provide an entire ecosystem of options to meet our customers’ diverse payment needs and preferences. Our early data shows that card users are more inclined to use contactless payments with mobile devices. After adopting mobile contactless payments, our credit card users show a 50% increase in contactless transactions, while debit card users triple their contactless transactions. We estimate that mobile contactless transactions will contribute to 80% of our contactless volume by 2020.”
