Speedtest Report: Singapore has the second fastest fixed and mobile download speed

ViewQwest and Singtel are the winners in Singapore’s Fixed and Mobile Services Respectively. 

Ookla, the folks behind Speedtest.net, released its Speedtest Market Report today for Singapore. Its research covers the period Q4 2016 to Q1 2017.

Highlights of the report:

  • Singapore Fixed Broadband: Singapore saw an average download speed of 180.61 Mbps over broadband and an average upload speed of 167.56 Mbps.
  • ViewQwest is the fastest broadband ISP in Singapore with download speeds at 899.35Mbps. M1 manages to emerge first for upload speed at 692.85Mbps. 
  • Singapore Mobile Speed: Singapore’s average mobile download speed was 44.37 Mbps in Q4 2016-Q1 2017 that ranks itself second globally, behind only Norway. Singapore’s average mobile upload speed of 17.46 Mbps in Q4 2016-Q1 2017 is the fastest in the world
  • Singtel, among all mobile carriers in Singapore, offers the fastest mobile speed with download speed at 49.80Mbps and upload speed at 19.27Mbps
