Press Release – Casio Introduces Next-Generation Photo-sharing with the EXILIM EX-ZR3600

Through new and improved Auto Transfer Mode, Geo-Location Tagging, One Time Share and more, photo-sharing has never been easier

Casio EXILIM EX-ZR3600

Singapore, 2 March 2016: Casio Singapore is pleased to introduce the EX-ZR3600, the latest addition to their award-winning EXILIM ZR Series of compact digital cameras. The EX-ZR3600 features many firsts for the series, including Enhanced Auto Transfer, Geo-Location Tagging, One Time Share function, as well as Selfie Art and Selfie Timer functions, all packed in a compact and light-weight frame.

Centred on the concept of “Amazing Gear”, the EXILIM ZR Series continues to offer innovative functions with outstanding shooting capabilities that enable users to creatively express themselves as well as share their images and videos with greater ease.

Never miss out on subtle detail and beauty

The new EX-ZR3600 has a 1/1.7-inch back-illuminated CMOS image sensor with a large surface that receives more light for crisper and clearer shots even during high-speed burst shooting or under dim lighting. The larger sensor also enables the EX-ZR3600 to capture subtle details and bring out facial feature definition with remarkable clarity.

Topped with Casio’s original Make-up Mode Technology, users can enhance their complexion by adding a fresh glow to their skin with a tinge of rosiness on the cheeks or smoothen the skin according to their preferences.

Connectivity to a Smart Device for Transfer of Images and Videos

Users will be able to seamlessly share their picture perfect moments with loved ones and on social media via the Auto Transfer Mode. Similar to its predecessor, the EX-ZR3600 utilizes Bluetooth® Smart, the EXILIM Connect application as well as Scene to automatically transfer chosen files to a smart device.

The improved Auto Transfer Mode gives users greater control over selecting the types of images or videos transferred to their smart device. Users can either manually select desired photos or adjust the camera’s Auto Transfer settings to intuitively recognise and automatically transfer only a specific type of image such as self-portraits.

New modes of sharing picturesque moments with friends

Sharing photos with larger groups has never been easier. Simply use the Scene application to generate a QR Code through the all new One Time Share feature and friends can instantly transfer desired images via scanning the QR code on the camera’s LCD display using a QR code scanner on their smart devices.

After the images are transferred, the Geo-location tagging function helps to sort files based on location on a map, making it a more interactive and engaging way to relive a holiday or special event with friends and family.

Going one step further, the camera’s Highlight Movie and Highlight Photo functions intuitively create short videos and photo collages to creatively capture and package the day’s best moments.

Selfie Art and Selfie Timer for the Selfie Lovers

Using the Selfie Art mode, Selfie enthusiasts can now add five artistic effects to their selfportraits – “Elegant” for a natural light feel, “Foggy” for a softer ambience, “Fairy” to bring out feminine qualities, “Nostalgic” for a sentimental and wistful mood and “Vivid” that sharpens and brightens shots.

After activating the new Selfie Timer mode in the camera settings, users can simply access the timer by pressing and holding on to the front shutter button to select from a choice of two to five second intervals. An additional Triple Timer mode can be activated, where the camera captures three images in rapid succession for users to pick the best shot.

Price and Availability

The latest EX-ZR3600 is available in three colours (Pearl White, Pink and Lavender), and retails at a Suggested Retail Price of SGD599 at all Casio Authorised Retailers from March 2016. -END-

Casio Singapore Awarded Green Label Certification For Its Lamp-free Light XJ Series Projectors And Launched XJ-V2

On 11 December 2015, Casio Singapore celebrates an industry-first Green Label Certification by the Singapore Environment Council (SEC) for its ‘Slim’, ‘Standard’ and ‘Core’ series of lamp-free Laser and LED Hybrid light source projectors. The Green Label Certification reinforces Casio’s position as an industry leader for its series of affordable lamp-free Laser projectors that optimizes performance without compromising on environmental sustainability.

Casio lamp-free projector models that have attained Green Label Certification include:

  • ‘Core’ Series – XJ-V1
  • ‘Slim’ Series – XJ-A257/ XJ-A252/ XJ-A247/ XJ-A242/ XJ-A142 / XJ-A147
  • ‘Standard’ Series – XJ-M151 / XJ-M156 / XJ-M251 / XJ-M256
(Left) Mr Desmond Gay, Product Marketing Specialist (Regional) Projector, Casio Singapore, (Right) Mr Watanabe Shunichi, Managing Director Casio Singapore

Casio Singapore also took the opportunity to showcase their latest lamp-free projector XJ-V2. One great improvement from its predecessor – XJ-V1, the XJ-V2 achieves a higher 3000 lumen brightness. Mr Desmond Gay, Product Marketing Specialist (Regional), Projector Casio Singapore, explained that Casio is constantly looking for ways to improve the product that serves the needs of the customers. The 3000 lumen brightness is a benchmark that is generally accepted in a bigger room environment such as school. However, Mr Gay also emphasized that XJ-V1 is a very good product that caters to different markets such as small offices or home users who don’t need that kind of brightness.

Compared to conventional mercury lamp projectors, using the XJ-V2 results in lower energy consumption and maintenance costs. The Laser and LED Hybrid light source helps to prolong the projector’s usability and lifespan of up to 20,000 hours while reducing overall energy consumption by half, enabling educational institutions and businesses to save cost and reduce carbon footprint. By going lamp-free, there is no need to worry about routine maintenance brought about by wear and tear, contributing to a lower TCO and greater long-term cost savings.

Casio’s lamp-free projector is seeking to change the way how projector makers run their business. There is a lifespan for the lamp in the projectors and once exhausted, users need to get it replaced and there gives companies repeated customers. When asked how this has impacted the business, Mr Watanabe Shunichi, Managing Director Casio Singapore commented, “Business is not about chasing money”. He further elaborated about Casio’s stand in delivering products that address customers’ needs. Making good and durable products do not mean losing repeated businesses. He cited example of Casio’s solar-powered calculator that is designed to last 20 years and explained further,” if we can keep people happy (with Casio products), our business will grow”.

Price and Availability

The latest XJ-V2 projector is available at all Casio Authorised Retailers at a Suggested Retail Price of SGD899 from the last week of December 2015.

The MTG-G1000D is the final piece to be added to Casio’s Global Time Sync collection, alongside selected G-SHOCK, EDIFICE and OCEANUS models featuring Casio’s pioneering and world’s first GPS Wave Ceptor Technology which utilises radio wave time-calibration and Global Positioning System (GPS) signals for instant and accurate timekeeping even across changing time zones.

When adjusting to different time zones, a Dual Coil Motor powers the inset dial’s watch hands at the six o’clock position to swiftly rotate both clockwise or counter-clockwise to almost instantly reflect the accurate time when the world time function is activated. Using the Dual Coil Motor, wearers can also instantly switch between world and home time displays on the main and inset dials, making the MTGG1000D especially suitable for frequent travellers.

Within the robust 198g stainless steel frame is Casio’s new and improved Core Guard Structure that boosts the watch’s shock-resistance using a newly developed spring-like fine resin. Wearers need not worry about hard knocks or impact even while on the go as the resin acts as a cushion to protect the module and watch face.

The MTG-G1000D is also fortified with Casio’s proprietary Triple G Resist – designed to withstand shocks from drops, gravitational forces and vibration – for unparalleled toughness and durability. MARINA BAY CAPTIVATED AS SHARAPOVA AND CHANG PLAY ON SINGAPORE’S FIRST FLOATING TENNIS PLATFORM

SINGAPORE, OCTOBER 23, 2015 – TAG Heuer unveiled Singapore’s first floating tennis platform at Clifford Pier last night in front of hundreds of invited guests and members of the public who had gathered along the waterfront to catch a glimpse of the spectacle.

“This historic place is where many first generation Singaporeans first set foot. Today, we’re adding a footnote to that history by launching Singapore’s first floating tennis platform,” said Ms Amelia Sillard, Vice President of TAG Heuer Southeast Asia.

The star of the evening, world number three and TAG Heuer ambassador Maria Sharapova arrived on a boat to join former world number two Michael Chang at the floating platform where they treated all along the bay to a singles game. Chang, 43, showed he still had the moves that 26 years ago earned him the record for being the youngest male player to win a singles Grand Slam title. Having just recovered from a forearm injury that forced her out of Wuhan, Sharapova looked in good form as she moved effortlessly around the floating court and hit a few winners against Chang to win the game.

For Singaporean tennis players Angeline Devi Devanthiran, 19, and Shaheed Alam, 17, the highlight of the evening was being paired with Sharapova and Chang in a mixed-doubles game. With both pairs holding serve, the game went into an unusual tie-breaker with their combined service speeds determining the winners. The Singaporeans started the contest with Shaheed serving at 158km/h and Devanthiran at 120km/h. Chang went next with a 161km/h serve. With 123km/h as the speed to beat, Sharapova served 163km/h to take the game.

In the Charity Rally that followed, both pairs tried to keep the ball in play with TAG Heuer pledging $100 per rally to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The crowd watched in suspense as the longest of three rallies reached 181. Presenting a cheque of $18,100 to the Foundation’s Director of Development Ms Elaine Tan, Mr Luc Decroix, Vice President of Global Sales, TAG Heuer, said, “History is written in moments of adversity and in the superhuman will to overcome. That will exists not just in sport, but in everyday life, especially in the boys and girls of the Make-A-Wish Foundation who remain strong in the face of illness.”

Demonstrating that will was 8-year-old Joshua Ong who suffers from non-Hodgkin lymphoma and whose wish was to meet a real-life sports superstar. His wish was fulfilled when he presented the new TAG Heuer Limited Edition SG50 Aquaracer to Sharapova on court. The five-time world number one gave him a hug and an autographed HEAD tennis racquet.

At a press conference held later, she addressed questions on her readiness for the Finals saying, “I’m healthy now. I spent the last few weeks healing up and I came out here early to acclimatise.”
