(SINGAPORE, March 2016) – Relive your every-day adventures and capture stunning point-of-view footage with Sony’s latest HDR-AS50
Action Cam. Whether you’re travelling, enjoying water sports, cycling or just strolling around, the HDR-AS50 allows you to capture those experiences and relive them in mesmerising HD movies.

HDR-AS50 Action Cam

The HDR-AS50 has an 11.1 megapixel back-illuminated CMOS sensor paired with a ZEISS® Tessar lens, capturing your content in crystal clear high definition resolution. It uses advanced SteadyShot™ which is three times more powerful than its predecessor and also used in the range topping FDR-X1000V, which delivers judder-free footage when shooting everything from motocross to aerial landscapes. The stabilisation system is especially effective against low amplitude vibration, which can occur when used with radio-controlled helicopters or drones. Capturing clear and steady footage of action sports is no longer problematic as shakes and blur during skydiving, running or cycling are effectively compensated for.

With the HDR-AS50, field angle adjustment is now possible through “angle setting” and “zoom setting.” Users benefit from two-step angle switching between wide and narrow, allowing perfect frame adjustment of any scene with less image distortion for great quality, no matter what angle. The HDR-AS50 also features a newly enhanced 3x smooth zoom, allowing you get even closer to the action.

HDR-AS50 Action Cam

The body of the HDR-AS50 has been redesigned with emphasis on increased usability. The Action Cam provides a new and improved user interface, enabling intuitive operation through icon and button operability, for quick setting changes when time is of the essence. Users can control their Action Cam using smartphones and tablets and turn it on/off when using with the PlayMemories Mobile app.

The camera boasts a rear USB port allowing users to connect a cable even whilst an accessory is attached, enabling the Action Cam to be supplied with power via a mobile battery, even while shooting. A tripod socket has been introduced eliminating the need for a tripod adaptor.

The new camera has implemented some changes based on customer feedback from athletes and other previous users, and now comes with several new and improved user features. Adjustable and enhanced beep sounds as well as three tally lights on the top, front and back have been added to allow greater notice of camera conditions like REC status even when wearing a helmet and when mounted on handlebars or monopods.

HDR-AS50 Action Cam

The HDR-AS50 comes with a variety of incredible movie functions for more exhilarating footage. Time-lapse Capture allows interval shooting of 8MP still images which means that even though the Action Cam only records in HD, when editing using the Action Cam Movie Creator software, these images can easily be turned into a stunning 4K Time-lapse movie. Time-lapse movies can also be created in Full HD using the Action Cam App.

The HDR-AS50 can capture high-bitrate recordings at 50Mbps using the XAVC S format, allowing you to shoot even the most complex of situations like splashing water or large crowds with impressive detail. Fleeting moments that ought to be emphasised can now also be captured in cinematic slow-motion, allowing you to add a creative touch to those epic moments.

Sony’s own in-built movie creator, Highlight Movie Maker, now incorporates face detection and automatically assembles a highlight package which can be viewed and shared immediately. Your action-packed footage is rounded off with pure and vibrant sound recorded with a high-quality stereo mic allowing you to accurately capture the essence of waves crashing or children laughing.

HDR-AS50 Action Cam

The HDR-AS50 comes with a large range of accessories to further enable you to preserve life’s moments. Divers and swimmers can now benefit from a supplied Underwater Housing for the HDR-AS50, which allows footage to be captured down to 60m under water. The housing is perfectly designed to protect your Action Cam from damage and is therefore not only extremely tough but also dust-, shock and waterproof. The designated flat lens allows you to capture incredibly clear underwater footage. An optional Cap Clip (AKA-CAP1) is a perfect accessory for any casual use such as travelling or fishing.

Sony’s new HDR-AS50 Action Cam will be available at all Sony Stores, Sony Centres and selected Sony authorised dealers from March 2016 at a recommended retail price of $299.

MARINA BAY CAPTIVATED AS SHARAPOVA AND CHANG PLAY ON SINGAPORE’S FIRST FLOATING TENNIS PLATFORM

SINGAPORE, OCTOBER 23, 2015 – TAG Heuer unveiled Singapore’s first floating tennis platform at Clifford Pier last night in front of hundreds of invited guests and members of the public who had gathered along the waterfront to catch a glimpse of the spectacle.

“This historic place is where many first generation Singaporeans first set foot. Today, we’re adding a footnote to that history by launching Singapore’s first floating tennis platform,” said Ms Amelia Sillard, Vice President of TAG Heuer Southeast Asia.

The star of the evening, world number three and TAG Heuer ambassador Maria Sharapova arrived on a boat to join former world number two Michael Chang at the floating platform where they treated all along the bay to a singles game. Chang, 43, showed he still had the moves that 26 years ago earned him the record for being the youngest male player to win a singles Grand Slam title. Having just recovered from a forearm injury that forced her out of Wuhan, Sharapova looked in good form as she moved effortlessly around the floating court and hit a few winners against Chang to win the game.

For Singaporean tennis players Angeline Devi Devanthiran, 19, and Shaheed Alam, 17, the highlight of the evening was being paired with Sharapova and Chang in a mixed-doubles game. With both pairs holding serve, the game went into an unusual tie-breaker with their combined service speeds determining the winners. The Singaporeans started the contest with Shaheed serving at 158km/h and Devanthiran at 120km/h. Chang went next with a 161km/h serve. With 123km/h as the speed to beat, Sharapova served 163km/h to take the game.

In the Charity Rally that followed, both pairs tried to keep the ball in play with TAG Heuer pledging $100 per rally to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The crowd watched in suspense as the longest of three rallies reached 181. Presenting a cheque of $18,100 to the Foundation’s Director of Development Ms Elaine Tan, Mr Luc Decroix, Vice President of Global Sales, TAG Heuer, said, “History is written in moments of adversity and in the superhuman will to overcome. That will exists not just in sport, but in everyday life, especially in the boys and girls of the Make-A-Wish Foundation who remain strong in the face of illness.”

Demonstrating that will was 8-year-old Joshua Ong who suffers from non-Hodgkin lymphoma and whose wish was to meet a real-life sports superstar. His wish was fulfilled when he presented the new TAG Heuer Limited Edition SG50 Aquaracer to Sharapova on court. The five-time world number one gave him a hug and an autographed HEAD tennis racquet.

At a press conference held later, she addressed questions on her readiness for the Finals saying, “I’m healthy now. I spent the last few weeks healing up and I came out here early to acclimatise.”

Our Lions’ goalkeeper, Izwan Mahbud, has made his name during the “miraculous” 0-0 draw game with Japan’s Blue Samurai. Now, there is a chance for inspiring young footballers from Singapore to be trained in Japan. Epson Singapore today announced a collaboration with the Football Association of Singapore to conduct an overseas training attachment for Singapore’s Under-14 players to the prestigious Matsumoto Yamaga Football Club, a professional club in Japan’s top tier J1 League. As part of the programme, three selected young footballers will have the rare opportunity to join the club’s youth training programme and participate in related activities from 22 to 28 June 2015. The training attachment is part of Epson Singapore’s three-year sponsorship, since August 2013, worth $1 million with the Football Association of Singapore (FAS), and is in line with the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts for youth development.

Handpicked by the National Football Academy, Muhammad Nur Adam Bin Abdullah, Mohamad Hamizan bin Mohamad Hisham, and Elijah Lim will experience the daily lives of, and learn from, footballers associated with one of Japan’s leading clubs. The young players were shortlisted from 23 U-14 players by Senior Coach Robbie Servais, based on his assessment of their technical skills, attitude and discipline.

They will kick-start the trip with a welcome and press conference at the club’s renowned Alwin stadium, close to where many Epson’s facilities are based, before heading to the training ground. The youths will get to stay in the club’s hostelinteract with Japanese players, and experience a J-league match.

The holistic training attachment will also include a chance to experience the historic sites and explore the spectacular natural beauty of the region andvisit Epson’s Monozukuri Museum, which offers a glimpse of Epson’s manufacturing history with exhibits ranging from the world’s first analog quartz watch to the latest innovative sporting and fitness products.

This collaboration is a result of long discussions between Epson, the Football Association of Singapore and Matsumoto Yamaga Football Club. Supported by many Epson employees in Japan, Epson has been the Club’s sponsor since 2005 and the shirt sponsor since 2006. Now in its first year in J1 and its fourth in the J-League overall, this is the first time that the Club has conducted an overseas training attachment as it opens links to Asia.

Said Ms Tan May Lin, General Manager, Epson Singapore (Sales Division), “Epson is happy to play its part in providing the best resources possible to groom Singapore’s future football stars. Through watching and training with one of Asia’s best professional teams, we hope that our youths will be motivated to pick up tactical tips and aspire towards being the best in the field. Beyo nd skills, we hope they will also bring home the essence of being a good sportsman, as they see values such as respect, discipline and the importance of teamwork come to life through the players.”
