Singapore – Borneo Motors held its inaugural karting challenge for its Toyota customers which commenced in December last year, which will see the reward of its three fastest kart racers with an exclusive tracking experience with the Toyota RC86 at the Sepang track in Malaysia.
With three qualifying races leading up to the final showdown, the series of events took place as early as 13 Dec 2014 and ended with a bang on Valentine’s Day this year. It was truly an adrenaline pumping race where the Top 20 fastest karters returned, to out-perform and surpass their opponents to clinch a place on the podium.
This series of events is a result of strong, standing partnership between Borneo Motors and Motul, an active player in the motorsports circuit and also the blender of the TRD Sport Oil by Motul range.
This “TRD Unleash the Racer in You” karting challenge is their latest brainchild to promote motorsports within the Toyota community, and that the everyday Toyota driver can experience the adrenaline rush of a racer through the TRD line-up of engine oil upgrade, bodykit and performance parts.
With an apparent lead of 9 seconds ahead of his closest rival, the youngest racer, Mr Lim Zi Jie, 22 years old, emerged as the 1 st place winner in the “TRD Unleash the Racer in You” karting challenge. Following behind were Mr Teh Hong Ming and Mr Alwyn Lee, aged 34 and 29 respectively, with just half a second difference from each other. Each won a paid trip for two to the famed Sepang International Circuit in April 2015 for a Toyota RC86 driving experience.
